Company Profile

Aetopia is a specialist Digital Asset Management (DAM) software company. We have been creating tailored Digital Asset Management solutions since 2004 to serve specific sectors such as government, museums and cultural heritage, body-worn video and policing. Our software is trusted by household names such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, Royal Botanic Gardens (Kew), the BBC, Highways England and High Speed Rail Two (HS2).

Aetopia is the only mainstream DAM provider currently trusted by UK policing to manage digital evidence. We also provide solutions for the management of body-worn video footage. These products are aimed at the police and security markets in the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain and the Netherlands. Information security and data protection is at the heart of what we do - we are fully ISO27001:2013 and Cyber Essentials certified, as well as supporting GDPR compliance via built-in consent processes within our DAM system.

Aetopia is 100% focused on DAM and our customers have a massive influence on our product development roadmap. We are constantly improving the platform in ways that help our customers achieve their goals. It is the combination of rich standard product functionality, plus the ability to tailor the solution precisely to customer requirements, that differentiates Aetopia from other suppliers on the market.

  • Licensing

    Licensing Model
This refers to the type of licence the DAM system software is supplied under. Proprietary means that the developer restricts access to the source code (the instructions used to generate the software). Open source means that the developer provides full access to the code so you can modify it yourself. Split model is hybrid and means they may offer both options with some restrictions removed (or added) depending on the model chosen. If split is selected, it is advisable to verify the differences with the vendor.
